dr. MONICA BAKER, O.D.
Dr. Baker joined Palmdale Optometry in June 2022. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Dr. Baker moved to Los Angeles in 2017. Dr. Baker studied biology at University of Illinois at Chicago and then enrolled in Illinois College of Optometry. In her last year of school, Dr. Baker spent traveling and researching abroad; she has studied and focused on ocular disease in Tennessee VA, binocular vision and vision therapy in Denver, CO, and her last clinical rotation in Melbourne, Australia learning how to practice optometry in a different country. She is a member of the International Optometric Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa. After her education, she started her career as an optometrist at National Vision - America's Best Glasses & Contacts in the Chicago suburb of Forest Park, IL.
After one year in Forest Park, Dr. Baker moved to Los Angeles and transferred to the new Southern California division of America's Best, starting in the La Cienega store in Pico-Robertson, Los Angeles. |
Shortly after, Dr. Baker received a great opportunity and was offered to lead the Inglewood office. She successfully grew the practice to the busiest store in the district. There she learned how to efficiently provide the best care for her patients. The growth and management of the Inglewood store inspired her to learn more about business and improving patient care, medical diagnosis, as well as specialty fit contact lenses.
In her career, Dr. Baker has partnered with LASIK centers, Diabetic clinics, and Retinal Specialists to help patients with their management. She is currently the managing optometrist and continues to strive to provide the best care for her patients.

DR. DAWN T. VU, O.D.
Dr. Dawn Vu has been in private practice since 2003 and owner of Palmdale Optometry since 2004. She is licensed to prescribe oral and topical medications to treat eye diseases and infections. She also is licensed to treat and manage glaucoma. In addition, she has extensive experience with rigid gas permeable and multi-focal contact lenses.
Dr. Vu earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California Riverside with a degree in Biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Vu had extensive internship training and practiced optometry at Camp Pendleton, Veterans Hospital of West Los Angeles and the Eye Care Clinic in Fullerton. |
